Information
I love combining nature with art and a perfect way to do this is by choosing unusual plant holders . These can be ready made like old shoes or teapots or they can be homemade.
The two cherry characters on the left above are plant pots decorated with acrylics. I used tiny plastic cups for the little arms . You could also use tiny terracotta plant pots.
The cat in the centre is probably the most adventurous!
I used one of my ‘bottle animals’ as the base and attached empty yoghurt containers to hold the succulents.
The squirrel on the right of the picture was just one o& those lucky serendipitous finds! One of the logs blight for our Wii£ stove reminded me of a squirrel. I added a little hessian a d a tiny heart shaped piece of wood for the face. The finished piece was stuck on to another log together with a tiny succulent.

A large hollow decorated ball for all plants, living or artificial.
I used the balloon method to create a hollow ball with papier-mâché. This was then painted black and finished by embossing with gold. A video showing this method will be coming soon!

An Old Favourite
I often use my papier-mâché animals and ‘people’ to ‘hold’ plants. This long suffering character has been holding on to his succulent for five years. He is a bit worn but still managing a smile!
