Christmas has always held a special place in my heart. The season encapsulates joy, warmth, and togetherness, and I relish every moment—whether it’s the enchanting music that fills the air, the vibrant celebrations that bring family and friends together, or the twinkling lights that dance cheerfully through the winter nights. For me, decorating our home for Christmas is not just a task; it's a cherished tradition that I look forward to each year.
My passion for decoration often manifests through unique and personal creations, particularly my animal and bird foil sculptures. These quirky, captivating lamp designs are made from aluminum foil, transforming a simple material into an array of magnificent creatures that light up my home—literally and metaphorically!
Creating sculptures from aluminum foil is a delightful blend of artistic flair and playful creativity. With each twist, fold, and crinkle, I find a new character emerging—whether it’s a lively bird or a very proud but loveable cat ready to share its charm. Each piece is handcrafted, ensuring that no two sculptures are exactly alike. It takes time but I find the process very relaxing . The tedious part ( rolling all those balls of foil) is ok when watching the TV or waiting for something to cook. I always keep a roll of foil in the car. It’s amazing how many balls can be rolled during a 30 minute journey! Obviously when someone else is driving!
These artworks do more than just decorate my home; they spark conversations and evoke smiles, offering a whimsical touch to my festive atmosphere.
